Statement · The House

Accessibility,
as a standard.

Last updated · March 2026

CitiesTroves is built to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the platform.

I · Our commitment

Serviced residences, reservable by all.

CitiesTroves is committed to ensuring the platform is accessible to every user, whatever their ability. We believe that everyone should be able to search for, reserve, and enjoy a serviced residence with ease.

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines provide a framework for making web content more accessible to users with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

II · Accessible features

What we keep up.

01

Keyboard navigation

Every interactive element on the platform is accessible by keyboard. Tab through links, buttons, and form fields without a mouse.

02

Screen-reader support

Our pages use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and landmark roles for compatibility with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.

03

Colour contrast

We hold sufficient contrast throughout the platform so text and interactive elements remain legible for users with low vision or colour-vision deficiency.

04

Responsive design

The platform is fully responsive and works across mobile phones through to desktop monitors. Content reflows naturally without horizontal scrolling.

05

Alternative text

Meaningful images carry descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers can skip them.

06

Focus indicators

Visible focus indicators are provided for every interactive element, so it is always clear which element the keyboard is on.

III · Known limitations

Where work continues.

Some areas of the platform may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Known limitations include:

  • Some older residence images, uploaded by Residence Managers, may lack descriptive alternative text. We are working with hosts to improve this.
  • The interactive map on residence pages may have limited accessibility for screen-reader users. Address and location details are also provided in text as an alternative.
  • Some third-party embedded content, such as payment forms, may carry accessibility limitations outside our direct control. We work with these partners to address such issues.

IV · Ongoing improvements

Work carried forward.

Accessibility is a standing piece of the engineering work. Current initiatives include:

  • Regular accessibility audits of new and existing features.
  • Training the engineering team on accessibility practice.
  • Automated accessibility checks inside our release process.
  • Gathering feedback from users with disabilities to identify areas to improve.
  • Working with Residence Managers to improve listing accessibility.

V · Report an issue

Tell us where the platform fell short.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier using CitiesTroves, we want to know. Your note helps us improve the platform for everyone.

Please share:

  • A description of the matter.
  • The page or feature where it occurred.
  • The assistive technology in use (if any) — screen reader name and version, for example.
  • Your browser and operating system.
